Our first post. Let’s get the ball rolling by featuring a particular favourite of mine.
Here we have an Oast House for sale in Peasmarsh – a village near to Rye, East Sussex. An Oast House is a building containing an oast (a kiln for drying hops); usually has a conical or pyramidal roof.

This detached twin roundel grade II listed oast house  has been subject to a high quality  conversion combining the traditional character of the building with modern contemporary living. It is set off a country lane in lawned gardens which back onto open farmland. Within the garden there is a detached guest cottage as well as several useful outbuildings.

Peasmarsh offers a good range of local services including a large independently owned supermarket, a primary school, two public houses and the Parish Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. The Ancient Town and Cinque Port of Rye is located 6 miles away and is famed for its historical associations. The town offers a range of local shops, restaurants and train services on the Brighton to Ashford line with fast connections to London (37 minutes) and the Continent.

Included in the images above are before and after shots of the conversion. Just the painting of the window frames has transformed the look of the building.

The above property is on the market at £995,000

See the estate agent’s website for further details.
